Writing the sales page first is so smart. I’ve had this Art course kicking around in my head for a couple of weeks now and getting the sales page written would help the momentum.

This hit home because today I recorded several videos with my phone and forgot to charge my tiny microphone so that I could use it. Oh well, next time!

"But there was this idea of creating the sales letter before actually creating the product."

I read that Amazon asked this about new products.

Yes, absolutely back in my e-commerce days you had to create the product listing first which is nothing else than a sales page

Yes, a sales page before... You are right.

And I think this is one of your best articles. I shared it with David, and he would like to translated into Spanish, with all the credits to you, in his newsletter "Money":

This is the kind of clarity you only earn by bleeding, then realizing half of it was unnecessary.

“Your course content doesn’t matter.” That line alone will save creators months if they have the maturity to hear it.

I’ve watched too many brilliant minds hide behind “perfecting the product,” when what they really fear is testing whether the market actually cares. You’ve reframed course creation from an art project into what it really is: An exercise in relevance and resonance.

In my world, we say: Don’t build products. Build promises you can keep.

Appreciate you cutting through the noise, Matt. Builders need more of this ruthless simplicity.

Very good advice. The hardest part, for me at any rate, is finding, building an audience of people who will take an interest in what I can offer.
