I’m kind of the opposite though, I usually write my draft and then refine and polish with gpt. Could probably be more efficient the other way around, but I like getting my original thoughts down as the initial framework.
I’m a huge fan of AI. You made great recommendations esp. prompting. I was trained to talk to it like I talk so my results are useful. And when they’re not I update my prompts to be more descriptive. It makes me smile when the machine says “You’re welcome Yvette…”

I use AI for both: polishing and first drafting :)
I found that the first draft is hard to write. having something to play with (AI draft) is easier
AI shouldn’t be a replacement but it sure is helpful. Keep bringing the value Matt.
